Sustainable holidays in Beitostølen

Renting a cabin or apartment instead of building a new one is actually quite smart. According to the Norwegian Society for the Conservation of Nature, cabin construction threatens nature in Norway, as new 'villages' are being built in natural areas. To enjoy cabin life in the mountains without feeling guilty, it's wise to rent private units that would otherwise remain empty.

Beitostølen Booking Service has been renting out private cabins and apartments since 1997 and was certified as an Eco-Lighthouse in 2023. We work hard to improve both the internal and external environment and want to showcase our achievements in our environmental blog.

June 2024

We have upgraded our office! Now we have a large conference table and a huge computer screen. The only things missing are some new chairs and a bit of wall decor, and we’ll be all set!

The best part is that we acquired a used conference table, which is much more environmentally friendly than buying new. It has been incredibly fun to host joint meetings for Visit Beitostølen and to enjoy the new space for our own meetings as well.

February 2024

We purchased environmentally friendly alternatives to cleaning products and replaced what we used before. Our employees reviewed all chemicals and tested various products to find ones with the same effectiveness.

October 2023

Beitostølen Fix helped us set up a wood shed at the back of the office. Now, heavy wood sacks no longer need to be carried over long distances to the car. We also had a custom shelving system made for our cleaning supply room!
